The Museums

The range of museums runs through the Residenz Museum in the castle, to the Bomann-Museum with its focus on local topics. The range of topics includes the culture of urban and rural life in the 19th century, aspects of Celle craftsmanship and industrial development, through to the story of the history of the state and folklore of the regions of Lower Saxony, right up to the wildlife habitat of the Lüneburg heathlands with a completely constructed Lower Saxon farmhouse. The Bomann-Museum is regarded as one of the largest and most significant museums in northern Germany.
